Hi
Who can suggest good places to visit (even around the world) for DAYTIME AM DX?
I myself have had 6 great places....
Bermuda (this location is hard to top!)
Port Fourchon, LA
Florida Keys
NC Outer Banks
Nassau, Bahamas
US Virgin Islands
Never been to Hawaii, and I am sure it is great at night, but what about daytime? Is California audible in the day there?
I use only a Superadio II & III + Select-a-Tenna.
Any other ideas for places to go?

Don't know about you, but I've done AM Dxing from Iceland. I think Reykjavik would be great. Probably everything there is on FM now. The summers there are decent (but almost 24hrs of sun in the summer) so spring or fall would be much better. If I had the chance, I'd go back.

Yeah I'd bet! Iceland would be interesting.....I only wish I had the proper equipment like in the Newfoundland DXpeditions.
I forgot....I'd think Cape Cod would be awesome as well.....
I would like to try Trinidad one day, if I only had the money.....

Ruv is still broadcasting on LW, but no MW broadcasting and they have stopped broadcasting on SW.
There frequencies are 189 kHz (300 kW) and 207 kHz (100 kW).

Jonfr....
I have always been curious about the carriage of LW.
I have never caught any Euro LW's....ever. Of course, I have never had the best equipment for it, nor have I tried very hard anymore (I don't even have an LW rx anymore).
How far do the Icelandic LW's reach? Can they be received in the UK in the day?
Also....curious....let's say there is an AM station on 1000 kHz with 50,000 watts. How many watts are needed to cover the same area (in the daytime) on 200 kHz? (I notice so many LW's have "megawatts".)

According to Ruv web page they have it confirmed that LW broadcast have been received in Germany, Netherlands, Ireland and the east coast of the U.S.
I don't know if you can get it during the day, but you possible can get it during the night. If the receive conditions are good.
