Nice catches, Doug. As I suspected WTKX 101.5 was the weaker of the three. Even though they are 100kw and 55 miles west of me I can often get signals over them. They have one of the weaker signals from all the high power Pensacola stations. Such as last night I had suspected WJOR St. Joseph, TN only listed as 4kw and is 319 miles north. Never heard an id, but it was religious and they aired a call in from a lady in Knoxville.
100.7 WJLQ and 104.1 WYOK are unbeatable from here, both 100kw with high antennas. I know WJLQ's is over 1500 ft. Other exceptionally strong P'cola area stations are 88.1 WUWF Gulf Breeze-NPR, 92.9 WBLX Mobile-urban, 97.5 WABB Mobile-CHR, 99.9 WMXC Mobile-AC "Mix 99.9" and 107.3 WYCL Pensacola-60's-70's-80's "My 107-3" with their 1400ft + antenna.
96.5 WZNS "Z-96" here in Ft Walton Beach is the only 100kw between Pensacola and Panama City but their antenna is only 400+ feet high from the middle of town. I take it you never heard them. The forecast maps show the tropo path may continue through the week although it is only out to the usual 200 miles to the north right now (6pm Oct 10)

Definitely religious. (they were being a pain on one of my better DX channels over the weekend) A long way from Knoxville though. But you never know...

Both stations are on the same tower, WYOK at 1,700' and WJLQ at 1,800. Also there are WKSJ-94.9 (heard before but not this time, why? Probably didn't stake out 94.9 long enough.) and WBLX-92.9. (lost cause with local WJXA holding forth) WABB and WMXC are almost as high (and also share a tower, along with WRKH and WHIL which are lower on the tower); probably would have heard WABB in this opening if I hadn't falsely assumed local WZZP was unoverridable.
> Other exceptionally strong P'cola area stations are 88.1 WUWF Gulf Breeze-NPR,
probably too low, never heard here.
> 107.3 WYCL Pensacola-60's-70's-80's "My 107-3" with their 1400ft + antenna.
1,368' on the same tower as WTKX and WPCS. Tried, not heard, too much WQLT Florence AL.

Yep. This seemed a rather elevation-sensitive opening (as Gulf openings often are from here), lacking 1,400' of antenna height was enough to make WZNS a lost cause.

WBAM is still in on 98.9 (300mi.) but relatively weak. But the frequency sounds quite unstable. There was a rock station in for awhile, I've no idea who that was, nobody anywhere around here!

I got an ID of 101.5 WJOR this morning, was in better and whiping out WTKX well for some time. I also pulled out 8kw WMSR Collinwood, TN at 323 miles on 94.9 over WKSJ Mobile just enough for an id but did not get an audio. Very amazing opening. It's dead down here tonight, can only barely pull out the usual first indicator 99.1 WAHR Huntsville, AL at 300 miles. Hoping for some trans Gulf tropo to Yucatan with the nice color on the Hepburn map.
