late evening ES Jan11

First, hello to everyone as this is my first post on the new forums
Had ES last night up here, last thing I expected to see on the tv here, first noticed towards the end of the national news on CBC ch4 Ottawa (around 10.45EST). Wimpy and all over by 11EST with nothing IDable even though CCI was pretty good at times over my local Ch3. But up here at this time of year, marvelous just the same.
anyone else saw this?

From what I can tell, you are the only person who caught that opening. There was nothing at all reported on the tvfmdx list on that day.

There were two great widespread Es openings on the middays and afternoons of Jan 8 and Jan 9 that got into FM in some areas. Since I am not old enough to retire, I was working and missed both of them.

This is winter Es season and it appears that January will most likely be the peak month for it. Thanks for signing up and posting!!

I don't generally report TV unIDs. An unIDed Channel 2 Global station was in here for a few minutes around 0045 CT on Saturday (12th). It was probably CKND2-2 Manitoba, judging from the direction. I don't know how long the DX was there before I stumbled onto it.
