And man was there a lot....

10/2-10/3

An almost forgotten part of the opening started back on Oct 2nd with a few
Raleigh's, and NE North Carolina's stronger than usual... I won't run down
the NC Dial here, but I will post some of my better catches from the period.
Little did I know what this was the start of... I didn't even take many
notes; most of this from 10/2 is from memory and going back to IM
conversations to compile a list. This was the same time period some (Jeff
etc) in New England had Raleigh's.

94.7 WQDR Raleigh, NC "QDR", Country, Over Semi-local WRDX-DE off the side,
Class C, 339 Miles

97.5 WQOK South Boston, VA "Number one celebrating 25 years of service to
the community Q97.5", "TOH", Over semi-local WTHK-NJ off back, New Log,
Class C1, 309 Miles

WTVR Richmond-VA, Class C, 393 Miles

102.1 WRXL Richmond, VA "The X", Richmond area Ads, Over Semi-local
WIOQ-Philly, Class B, 203 Miles

105.1 WDCG Durham, NC "G-105", CHR, Next to local WSJO off back, Class C,
352 Miles

107.1 WXPK Briarcliff Manor, NY "World Class Rock", "The Peak", New log
because of closer pests WWZY, WTDK, and WWYY, Class A, 117 Miles

---------------------------------

And then the band exploded... starting with Oct 3/4th. The following list
does not include stations from NYC, Hartford, The common CT's, The Common
RI's, Common MA's, and finally DC/Baltimore/Norfolk N-VA to the south, and
most Harrisburg's to the west.

It was a packed dial to say the least! The thing that made this opening
especially special was that it wasn't confined to just the early
evening/night, this one went all day long. At 2 PM in the middle
of the day I had Portlands blasting in.

Most of the following I have a recording of, I do not have "new" stations
marked since it'd probably take another week to compare to my log! Many are
new though.

Thanks Jacob! Sure was, it was by far the best trop opening of the year, arguably the best in a several years.

I'm still working on cutting up all those audios, I’m running into the problem where I want so save everything since it all sounds so good... I'm trying to decide what to keep.
