conditions were rather poor around midnight with the usual 250-300 mile stations in stronger than normal and nothing fancy on the APRS map. I was about to pull the plug and hope for some Ms later in the morning but took one more look at the APRS map and saw RED from here to Mexico. Sure enough, in weak was 93.9 XHTXA "Solo Exitos" Tuxpan, Veracruz, Mexico 14.5 kw about 925 miles.
Also Spanish A/C on 102.5 which I'm sure is XHRR "Exa FM" Reynosa, Tamaulipas 50kw abt 760 miles but got clobbered by WFMF Baton Rouge before any ID and never returned.

101.7 XHVIR "La Cotorra" Ciudad Victoria, TAMPS 100kw abt 900 miles returned just before 3am and proves to be the strongest most consistent signal. It finally faded about 10:30am.

I quit about 4am, set the recorder and pointed north for meteors on 93.9 ,came back at 6:30 to check what Wavepad had recorded only to find that KMXR Corpus Christi, TX at 689 miles had come in and completely filled the audio for 2 hours masking all Ms burns.
A few more Mexican stations were pulled out

101.3 XHAW "Involidables" Monterrey, NL 25kw abt 896 miles
103.7 XHFMTU "FM Tu" Monterrey, NL 100kw abt 896 miles.
Extremely selective tropo. Pat Dyer in San Antonio did not report anything out of Texas.
