Hello.

I managed this morning to receive a digital signal from Lahti transmitter on E51 200 miles away with up to 80-90% signal quality. None of the channels there were FTA, but the teletexts were readable. My location is Laguja, Estonia. Signals were received with two indoor antennas joined together in a room.

Very Good reception!
Presumably there is an FTA (Free to Air,not scrambled) multiplex
from Lahti with the Finnish YLE national channels on?

This must be a high powered transmitter as I think Finland
now is fully digital so no analogue stations to interfere with ???

Interesting package of channels with Discovery,Eurosport & Swedish TV
for Europe.SVT Europe channel is also available on satellite across Europe
& costs a lot of money to subscribe to for just one channel.Aimed
at Swedish people living in Europe. There are also two Swedish Radio
stations which are free on the sat multiplex, are they there on DTV.
The teletext is also free on satellite.

The Spanish channels which I receive here have several radio stations in
the EPG list.

Regards,Hugh in Portugal.

Not bad at all! Do you know how much power their transmitter runs?

SVT isn't free-to-air in Finland? I thought they would be.

Hi

SVT I believe shows a lot of imported TV with just subtitles & so outside
Sweden due to copyright restrictions they can't transmit these, apart from
border areas.
SVT Europa is a mix of SVT1 & 2 nationally originated programmes aimed
at Swedes in Europe who want programmes from home

SVT1,2 national channels etc are available in a satellite package from Canal Digital via the Thor 2 and 3 satellites together with YLE Finland and DR Denmark and NRK Norway. It's possible with that with "official" viewing cards registered in say,Sweden that DR/YLE/NRK national channels are blocked.

"Unoffical" cards are probably available.

In South West Europe Thor gives a real weak signal

Not sure of the Lahti transmitter power.

SVT Europa stopped being available for everyone in Finland when the analog television was switched off. They had an analog transmitter in Finland during the analog era.

Unfortunately other muxes from Finland were blocked by other transmitters(one even in my neck of the woods) this time, so E51 was the only one I could get.
