Hello TV DXers,
It's been a while. Hard to believe it's been almost 10 years since I've done any serious DXing.
About a week ago a Ham friend brought over an Insignia DTV box for a road test. Well, I'm hooked, again. 52 new ones in the log with the typical night time / early morning tropo enhancement. Really looking forward to a good opening.
If any of you need help with anything TV in the western Ky area let me know. I've been DXing this location for 19 years and have 1105 in the log.
Using...
Icom R-7000 with video adapter.
Borrowed Insignia DTV box. (I'm gonna have to buy one)
HD-73 rotor. (gettin kinda noisy...gonna have to service it someday)
Channel Master 7777 pre-amp. (This is my third pre-amp. Lightning killed my last two 7477a's)
Antennacraft? VHF (It was the biggest one I could find) @ 18 ft.
Antennacraft? Finco? (Not sure...I adopted it) UHF 7 ft parabolic @ 24 ft. I used to have these antennas up quite a bit higher but had to move them for work on the house. I plan on putting them back on a taller tower when time allows.
Hat tip to Doug, W9WI. He's been a great help to all of us DXers and runs great website!
