Very good! Think I can imagine the channel.
Can see on Sherlock there's a lot of activity from north to south

Presumably El Presidente won't be demanding a change from analogue
too quickly so it will be there for some years???
With the change in the US next year these signals should be more widely
seen???!!!
Gone quiet here at the moment

Hugh

You bet, Hugh! I have locals on 2, 4, 5 & 6.....they will be gone come next summer. This will open up opportunities for foreign TV that I used to see only when driving a couple hours away from here.
Check my posts from last year on Got TV DX? to see what I have caught when away from this place!! Pix galore....
I have only caught 1 Canadian from home, CKVR 3....come next year, for the next 2 or 3 summers, I'll be able to try for more.
And yes, Venezuela should be analog for awhile. Cuba & Haiti should be the last of the last to convert. 2020 maybe?

Cuba actually plans to convert to digital several years up the road - but NOT to ATSC, Possibly DVB-T of SBTVD.
If I've heard correct about Haiti, they have not had any terrestial TV for decades.

Just looked at your postings last year CD.Good location!!!
Fortunately lowband here is clear,I'm well away from TVE and RTP on E2.
Canaries E3 closed some years ago which is good as that gave a lot of
problems when the band opened up
TVE Spain E3 from Alicante has been putting out just a carrier for some weeks,no sync/video/audio.Nobody has bothered to fix it...strraange!!!
I heard a story Cuba experimented with the Secam color system (which the Soviets were using of course) but it just didn't work properly on 525/60
with less chroma bandwidth available (secam uses 2 adjacent FM carriers
for the color information)so they ended up using NTSC.
Just looked in my old 1995 World Radio TV Handbook and Port Au Prince
was listed on ch 8 and ch 10 (ntsc)
Also a cable network called Tele Haiti was in the Port Au Prince area.

To Robert: (1) Interesting info about Cuba....my trips to the Keys will be worthless! It somehow shouldn't have surprised me that they'd have tried to go SECAM or PAL, so we couldn't see them & vice versa..............(2) Re Haiti, [I]au contraire, mon frere![I] ...I logged Telemax TV on ch 5 in year 2000 (poor pic on Danny's site). I believe today Telemax is owned by rapper/singer Wyclef Jean. Also ch 4 Tele Eclair which I have never seen....and, above all CCanal 11 4VTKT which one can view (via subscription, formerly "free") at www.jumptv.com
To Hugh: If not for the TV DX, and if I got a better job, I would have left Florida a while ago....Of all states, from the US, one can see/hear more countries via FM/TV from mine, than any other. By a long shot.

Sorry... www.jumptv.com still has free channels & Canal 11 is one of them....however, one has to toggle the controls (by clicking here & there) to get the proper picture.
I watched a C11 show a few months ago with a woman talking in both English & Kreyol.
