Well CD,finally received it with an id.
Was on an interview before 20.00UTC,now on a sort of Cuban American sitcom.

Channel 4 is there with zero offset but no/littleaudio (my antenna is also
falling off in gain by then)

Will put a video on youtube tomorrow...

Video is a real mess

At 20.30 UTC it's gone onto "Open All Hours" a BBC comedy show
from the 1970's.

Channel 3 is weak on a news type program (possibly even Canadian,
references to Prime Minister & Canada) & Ch 4 is fading fast

Wow.....I think I am gonna be sick.....Closest I got to Portugal was Bermuda FM....Farthest east possibly US/British Virgin Islands.

The Cuban-American comedy was "Que Pasa, U.S.A.?" which was shot on videotape, right from WPBT's studios, 1976-1978, and still is shown in reruns today, but is very dated as far as humore & lifestyle compared to 2008. Yes, a sitcom on PBS....it was distributed to PBS stations who wanted it. When I was stationed near Anchorage, Alaska 1978-80, they showed it there!

At 21.00 UTC they've gone onto "Last of the Summer Wine" another BBC
show which some people find funny apparently:banghead:

Channel 4 is weak now tho still coming and going,so is 3.

There must be 6 meter stuff coming in on your side now.

Interesting about the sitcom. One of the RTP archive channels on cable/sat
still shows All in the Family/Archie Bunker which was very popular here.

I'll put something together on youtube tomorrow tho the video quality
is terrible.I could just make out David Jason the actor,in "Open All Hours"
in one scene.

By all means, send an mp3:

www.channel2.org

As long as you have the sound, and it is fading in/out like DX, I am sure they'll eat it up.

I like classic TV, and I don't care how old it is if it is good....but some comedy/drama/adventure does not hold up well, as far as reruns marketed to 2008.

The different parts aren't in sequence.

Firstly came the conversation/interview which is at the end, then the id
(then "Que Pasa" which isn't in the clip) after that "Open All Hours"
and finally the "Last of the Summer Wine" music with a quick support pledge
promo before.

Nice catch, Hugh. What's the highest channel you have received from the US?

Hi Danny and Randy
Had something(just!) on ch 5 once.
Normally 2 and 3 are the strongest. It's amazing how selective
the propagation was allowing WPBT to be there on its own, with
very little co channel for nearly 2 hours!!!!
Quiet so far today

Likely because it's at the end of a peninsula, with no other stations on A2 east of it for thousands of miles.

WPBT has a reputation of being an easy Es catch for many in the USA (with perhaps half the US population in it's "Es belt" 1300-2000 km from it), it's even been called a "pest".

awesome video, thanks for posting it.

That's not entirely correct. There's several TV2 stations in that area. Cuba has several, Tele Rebelde in Havana is supposed to be more than 100kw, The Dominican Republic has two Tele Antillas stations, 25kw and 5kw. WKAQ Telemundo in Puerto Rico is 55kw. Multihop sporadic E has proven to be very common up to 60MHz and possibly higher. There seems to be a sharp drop off between there and 88MHz.

Certainly Telemundo is the most common transatlantic signal here in
Portugal.

Presumably FL is just that little bit further away to make it more difficult maybe.
Cuba had possibly been in a little bit earlier in the afternoon with the bird documentary which I'd never received before either but given the distance between FL and Cuba or FL and SC one would have thought there might have been at least some co channel.

Yet when SC/NC comes in there's no sign of FL....Strange.!!!

youtube have finally activated the "watch in higher quality" option
at the lower right of the screen for the video just click on the option
It's a little less blocky...Ain't in High Definition that's for sure!!
