Had a chance to play with a Dish DTV Pal today....I'm not impressed.
I compared it to the Insignia box and it lost. The Insignia will lock on to, and hold stations, that the DTV Pal will not.
One strange thing...While pointed at WKMA DT 42 it would show plenty of signal, and a signal lock, but would not display a picture. Haven't quite figured this out.
Remote and menu were kind of a pain to use...Lots more steps involved in doing a manual search.
I only messed with the DTV Pal for an hour, so I'm probably not being completely fair about it, but I was glad to disconnect it and go back to the Insignia.

DTV Pal. Not DTV PAL.

Blame Dish Network.

Dish has come out with a DTV Pal Plus. Supposed to have a better tuner in it.

Anyone tried one of these yet?
