30 minutes of E skip the evening of Dec 1 resulted in 2 ID's and at least 1 unid.
Maybe someone can make something out of the 88.7?

89.3 is TGYC "Radio Estrella" Guatemala City, Guatemala about 1120 miles

89.7 is "Super Cadena" also Guatemala City.

88.7 at 0048z has an ad at the beginning that mentions San Pedro Sula and San Marcos which are towns in northwest Honduras. At about 47 seconds in I hear what sounds like "Radio Sendura, en exitos, en Lianopo" or something like that. Any ideas?

88.7 0052z I hear something like "y contorsio de radio de stereo".

Some Honduras FM's : http://www.sover.net/~hackmohr/info/hondfm.htm
88.7 Radio Nicaragua?: http://www.radionicaragua.com.ni/
88.7 "Stereo 88" Costa Rica? : http://www.88stereo.com/

Some surprise E skip showed up Jan 5 to Mexico.
I've got I positive ID , 1 I'm pretty sure but would like to confirm from Jim or anyone who speaks better Spanish than I do.

89.7 XEOYE "Oye 89.7 Siempre Hits" Mexico City 100kw 1090 miles

91.9 I'm pretty sure is XHVJL Puerto Vallarta 50kw 1341 miles. I hear talk about email in Veracruz?? then at the end music in Puerto Vallarta? Or maybe this is just news around the country? Still this is the only station that fit the skip area.

89.3 with romantica. Is that an ID in there, Jim?

Randy,

Re: 89.7 XEOYE "Oye 89.7 Siempre Hits" Mexico City 100kw 1090 miles

>>You got that right on! Complete id and even the 'Siempre Hits' jingle

Re: 91.9 I'm pretty sure is XHVJL Puerto Vallarta 50kw 1341 miles

>>I don't hear Puerto Vallarta, but the two announcers are talking about receiving emails from around México and they do mention Veracruz. I hear the one announcer right at the beginning say "Sistema Jalisciense", which is the slogan for Jalisco government radio. XHVJL is the primary for the Jalisco government radio network.

Re: 89.3 with romantica. Is that an ID in there, Jim?

>>The announcer says, "Its time to get started with this weeks romántica hits....<de la ???>....lets get going, number twenty, falling eight spots...", then music starts. The question marks quite possibly is the name of the program. I'd put XHLLV Tula de Allende HGO (Hidalgo) down as a tentative, because I really think its them.

Randy,

I also listened to your eskip from December 2nd. I didn't realize you had some clips up here or I would've listened to them sooner.

Re: 88.7 at 0048z

>>station is TG-- San Marcos (SMA) GT 5000 watts and owned by Justo German Orozco Miranda. The 'barrio' mentioned is a small town outside of San Marcos, but i'm not sure of the spelling. I wish the Secretary of Telecommunications for Guatemala would get with it and publish the call letters and power/antenna info for ALL licensed fm radio stations. I have the COMPLETE list of fm's for Guatemala from the SIT, but its been a real chore completing missing information for the listings.

Re: 88.7 0052z I hear something like "y contorsio de radio de stereo"

>>This is 88 Stereo, TIPZ, San José CR. You were probably leaning that way. At the beginning of the clip, the announcer says "Ochenta ocho stéreo", which i'm not familiar with anyone else in México or CA on 88.7 that id's that way.

Unattended recording today around lunchtime resulted in these few weak signals coming up over the usual Gulf coast stations.

One ID with "Radio de Calores" = XHROO Chetumal, QROO, Mexico 5kw 832 miles which is just north of Belize on the Mexico Caribbean coast. 999th FM station logged.

The next audio is just SS talk. Perhaps something useful?

In the next audio I can make out talk about "Isuzu Crosswind" Is there some other talk in there that might indicate a car dealership? My Spanish is lousy.

My Spanish is probably worse than yours, but I believe I heard one, perhaps two mentions of "Cuba" in the 1st unid. In the second, I couldn't hear much more than the "Isuzu Crosswind"s. All that tells me is that this one likely isn't Cuba ;-}

***The sports announcer is doing a pregame report on World Cup fútbol (soccer) and who the country teams are that are in the running. Nothing that ties the audio clip to anywhere geographically specific.

***The Isuzu Crosswinds is a make and model from the Santa Rosa, Phillipines plant that is sold in the Central American countries. There isn't any reference to a dealership, although there might have been at the end of the radio spot when it began to fade.
