Attached 2 clips of African stations received in Portugal today.
1377 KHz Radio Free Africa Tanzania with African music and then various
references to Radio Free Africa in Swahili after about 1:30
Other clip is KBC Kenya on 1386 KHz with sports news.Their audio is very
undermodulated as the carrier was quite strong. There's reference to Kenya around 0:15 in "Kenya's Olympic" and also at 0:35 sounds like "Kenya's Radio Star".
There are nearly always lots of thunderstorms affecting African reception.
Think power of both transmitters is listed at around 50KW and are around
4,000 miles from me.
These signals are best from about an hour before local sunset and gradually get swamped by Northern European powerhouses.Best around now and in
the spring.
