Very interesting posts, David. I'd like to try one of those 7 foot loops sometime, if I can find the space for it. Thank you!

hi i have made what you would call an indoor very reduced sized flag antenna and its MUCH more quiet than the multi turn loop but you need a low noise pre amp with it. i just took the pick up loop out of one of my multi turn loops and fed it with a 48/11 turn ol balun on the side corner which i wanted maximum direction and on the opposite corner i put a 1000 ohm terminating resistor you can judge by yourself on the video

also the single turn loop/flag is rejecting the european MUCH better than the multi turn loop. so now i have 2 of them 1 to usa canada and one to carribean etc... thanks david h ... ayrshire scotland

Neat.
I still plan on constructing a large (6 to 10 ft diameter) loop for BCB, but mine will be tuned (LC) to provide some strong signal rejection from stations up or down the band.
