This is an interesting feature on fmfool.com (http://www.fmfool.com/) that is generated by entering your address.

Here's what my FM dial looks like. I'd like to see how other's compare.

That *is* interesting...

I attached four:
w9wi-pv.png: here, in Pleasant View. I've heard all these stations except WPRH and WKMD both on 90.9. Both are in the FCC DB as construction permits and I strongly suspect they aren't on the air yet. To a large degree I'd call the listings accurate but suggest the following stations are stronger in real life:

WFGS-103.7
WNAZ-89.1
WUHU-107.1
WBKR-92.5
WKMS-91.3
WWTN-99.7
WGGC-95.1

w9wi-madison.jpg: the last place I lived in Madison, over by Olbrich Gardens. This one looks pretty accurate too, except for WSUM-91.7. I was up there yesterday and (to my surprise) this station has noisy spots all across the East Side, starting within a few blocks of the Capitol on East Washington Ave.. Maybe on reduced power for some reason? Also not heard were WIDE-LP, WWJA, and WHAA, but I'm pretty sure they aren't on yet.

w9wi-milwaukee.jpg: My mother's place about 15 miles northwest of Milwaukee. This obviously lists the new tower location for WJMR-98.3, as their old tower is literal line-of sight. (as in, you can see the tower lights from her kitchen window) At the old site they would have definitely been #1 on the list, not #17! WJZX-106.9 was also on that tower for a few years and would have been #2 instead of #18. WCCX-104.5 has never been heard at that location, while many stations lower on the list were frequent reception.

murdo-sd.jpg: Just for the heck of it, the motel I stayed in in Murdo, South Dakota on Tuesday night. I don't think KOYA is on. (listed as CP only) You know you're in the middle of nowhere when the strongest station is 47 miles away and the 10th strongest is 98 miles distant! The three Pierre stations (92.7, 95.3, 100.1) were surprisingly weak - despite decent transmitter sites (which I drove past on Wednesday morning). I've heard 92.7 and 95.3 much better here in Pleasant View! (via Es...)

My crowded dial, which doesn't even get to the NYC signals which are very much bonafide locals using the APS-13 here.
