Christopher, I had WPBT-2 and WFOR-4 Monday afternoon, along with Cuba 3/4 color bars and "Canal Habana" on channel 2.

Oddly, WPBT was much weaker than WFOR. Have you noticed any change in WPBT's signal lately? It could have just been strange Es.

I think more analog stations are reducing power than official FCC data indicates.
KVHP-DT-30 was in here for hours last night and this morning, yet KVHP-29 was never received.

Funny u ask....

Actually I noticed about 1 month ago on my living room TV that the lowbanders seemed weaker. Was hoping that it was the case, and not that my cables were no good.

I called the CE of WFOR, and he told me that all's well on their end. Also I bypassed the CECB, VCR & DVD player, and the reception of 2 & 4 are just fine. (I still cannot explain the cable problem, as I checked each one of them. No matter----the living room TV is not my DX rig.)

On my DX TV (the Funai), 2 & 4 are somewhat decent, but, I get those diagonal lines, as if someone was using a battery shaver or sumpn. I may have to bypass the CECB or my ol' Teknika tuner if it keeps up.

I'll be looking forward to DXn with my amplifier, now that adjacent channels won't be a problem, once analog goes away. Of course with Congress voting again next week and trying to pull a Lucy-vs-Charlie Brown (per Mike-CT's post), who is to say what'll happen?

BTW Canal Habana is 100% used on UHF ch 27 in La Habana, however, they have a show or 2 on the Tele Rebelde channels.....doubtless this was 2 La Habana u saw.

Speaking of.....does anyone know info about the Multivision channel in Cuba? I read about it, and I understand it's cable-only....I have no clue about cable TV in Cuba, although I am sure that Telesur in Venezuela is carried on it. How do the people afford it???? Is cable TV a government program there? And I wonder what other channels are available....I know...OT...not DX :)

Thanks for setting me straight on WPBT-2 and Canal Habana.

When I saw that Canal Habana ID my first thought was that the early evening local programming block on channel 2 in Havana is called CHTV. Is that still the case?

Well, CHTV it was, and of course you have my photo of CHTV on your site, but it may have been phased out.

I saw Canal Habana on 13 Matanzas as well, and that's why I said it was a Tele Rebelde thingy.

Maybe Elizabeth & I will take a day off in March and I'll do some fact-finding down in the Keys. I stayed at a motel in 2006 (won't say where for now) where the owners/employees were generous in letting me set up a way to DX even in the room. I hope they'll do the same in 09.
