OK---

Today I did some reviewing.....WPEC 12 & WPXM 35 are nowhere to be found, analog OR digital. Maybe it is taking some time to set up or improve their digital facilities?

Maybe they are strictly on cable for awhile? As I do not have cable, I have no idea. Went to 12's website yesterday & no mention of anything on this.

As for 35, no biggie, as I get WPXP 67 + their subs....same programming, basically....Same with 12, in the sense that I get CBS on WFOR 4. (Now to try for WOFL 35 Orlando, and maybe some tropo to the Gulf for 12 New Orleans if still on, or 35 in Fort Walton if still on. Hey, the sky's the limit.)

Any news on these? and, are there any OTA stations currently "cable only" around the USA?

http://www.stationindex.com/tv/callsign/WPXM Claims that WPXM is full power on digital with a total of 5 subchannels.

Their FCC application filed on Feb. 19 indicates
"THE STATION TERMINATED ANALOG SERVICE ON FEBRUARY 17, 2009, PURSUANT TO PUBLIC NOTICE, FCC ANNOUNCES PROCEDURES REGARDING TERMINATION OF ANALOG SERVICE ON OR AFTER FEBRUARY 17, 2009, FCC 09-6 (REL. FEB. 5, 2009)."
That should mean they are digital only on UHF channel 35.

WPEC filed a report in January (http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cdbs/cdbs_docs/388_101.cfm?form=388_101.cfm&acct=0&appn=101288821&fac_num=52527&formid=388)
that references their analog signal on 12 and digital on 13. In fact, both pre and post transition DTV operation is to be on VHF 13. (Virtual 12.1)

tvfool.com shows their analog is on VHF 12, and digital 12.1 is on VHF 13. So, it appears both signals are on the air at full power. At least, that's what their web site (http://www.cbs12.com/) would seem to imply.

WPEC's analog was off the air for a few days. Someone at WPEC e-mailed it to me. Was supposed to return last weekend...I haven't checked yet.

As to WPXM, I have yet to see their digital + the subs since they signed off. When a station goes back to what was their analog channel from another channel (i.e., "analog 35" going digital, moving from 26 to 35 as they are s'posed to do), does that mean I have to re-scan? At present, "35-1 thru 35-4" at this time shows nothing on my DTV converter box/TV. They used to be regulars when using 26 for digital.

Either way, WPXP 67 has basically the same ION + its subs.

Christopher, when a DTV moves to another RF channel, go on and re-scan. And count it as a *new* DTV for your log, even though the ATV has been on 35 (if you are so inclined).

If we DXers are confused about so many aspects of DTV, can you imagine the confusion of average TV viewers, who have little knowledge of TV reception techniques, etc.
