KTAL Texarkana was in and out for a day before things opened up.
Tropo also good into St. Louis and central IL.

Ed, It was open here for 2 days and I was able to grab my all time farthest UHF tropo station KNVO-DT 49 from Mcallen TX at 998 miles!
They were my best UHF analog DX also so not sure when I might be able to break the 1000 mile barrier.
Other highlights of the opening were getting AR and TX DTV's over KBSI and WSIL here and all in all about 25 new stations were logged.
DTV total now 217

Thanks, Danny. It was another looong night. Opening really got going around 1 A.M. and I stayed up 'til 4 A.M. Got up at 9 A.M. and logged several more. Things finally wound down about 11 A.M. Didn't see much VHF tropo with, what's left of, my antenna. I should have a new Antennacraft CS-1100 here in just a few days.

Great catch on KNVO, Bob! I think WOAI is my best DTV, so far. I'd like to get the antennas up higher, for a better shot at the DX but, I get sooo many lightning strikes I'd probably be replacing pre-amps, several times a year, if I did.
On the 17th I had lots of local tropo but not too much DX.

A little bit more DTV tropo DX on 3-21...Texarkana, El Dorado, and Little Rock. All re-logs. Nothing like the 3-18 opening.

The new Antennacraft CS-1100 VHF antenna is assembled and ready to go up. I just need to wait for a good thunderstorm to do the installation. You get better results from an antenna if it's put up during bad weather. Ideal conditions would be, at night, during a thunder-snow storm. :-)
KIDS: DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!

Bob, that is a super catch. Do you mind if I add you to the DTV DX Hall of Fame page?

Danny, I would be honored to be in the DX Hall of fame but I have to say at this time I still have not recd any E-skip via DTV.
I hope to remedy that this season. Let me know what else is required to get into the HOF.

Thanks, 73
