First DX

I've been bucking it :rolleyes: , but finally setup a small UHF corner reflector in the attic and hooked it up. Aside from the locals, my first DX was across Lake Michigan:

For reference, on that map, I live under the "F" in FLOOD on the left. :)
This station is about 120 miles from me.

I'm using a Vizio TV that I bought at Walmart. I really like the TV, but it's a pain to DX with. It takes 10 minutes to scan the spectrum and there's no signal strength meter. So the procedure is: move antenna, start scan, and do something else. Did I get anything? Move antenna, start scan, walk away again .... anything that time? Terrible. :(

BUT, I've got my first DX.

Welcome to DTV, John! And, yes, unfortunately, some DTV/HDTV tuners are definitely not DXer friendly.

My first DTV DX station was WLWT-DT 35, Cincinnati, OH @ 102 miles in 2001. At the time, I had no idea I could even receive such stations at that distance.
