Be watching here for updates for the 2009 edition of Emisoras de FM. This will include anything that changes with any of the listings found in the book. If you learn of something that has changed or is new, please send a private message to me and I will include it with my list of updates.

The plan is to do one update per month, if changes should warrant doing such.

---------------------------
If this is the first time you have heard about the book "Emisoras de FM" and don't know what it is, please follow this link-

http://www.wtfda.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=146&Itemid=75

CURRENTLY, there are no copies of the 2009 edition available. It is possible that a 2010 edition will be made possible, as there have been numerous changes of radio stations listed in the book.

Over the past two years, Belize has gone through some dramatic changes with the landscape of their FM radio dial. Just this year a handful of those stations have been forced off the air due to financial difficulties because of the global economic downturn.

I have attached a PDF of the current Belize map page from the 'ever changing' Emisoras de FM, if you care to print out a copy and compare it to the 2009 Emisoras de FM edition. If you notice a station is missing on the new map, it is because they no longer exist.

There is one other Radio Taíno change to add to the update that was posted earlier in this thread....

93.3 CMHI CAM Camagüey .631 kw (moves from 99.7)

I thought I had included this one in the previous list, but noticed it was missing. If you have already copied that information, please make a note of this change.

Did 93.5 Radio Cadena Agramonte in Camaguey move?

According to the latest information from ICRT, RCA did not move and now makes me wonder why they would let Radio Taíno move their relay right next to them. But then, it doesn't seem much makes sense in Cuba - unless - RCA did move and the records do not show it.

Effectively immediately, all FM radio stations in México that were originally an AM station and later given an FM assignment, must revert back to their original call letters, plus the use of -FM. These would be stations that are inserting an H in place of the E of the AM counterpart.

An example would be:

91.3 COL Tecomán XHTY 10000 Los 40 Principales//XETY 1390 am - chr/SS-EE

The Tecomán station must now be listed and ID as XETY-FM. Logistically, XHTY is officially assigned to 99.7 BC Tijuana.

If you own a copy of Emisoras de FM, you will note stations with the //XE-- of the AM parent station. Those stations have to ID as XE-- - FM (calls of the parent station). This is a move by Cofetel (Mexican license authority) to clean up the use of call letters throughout the country. I don't understand why they ever let it get to this point. There were several instances of two different stations using the same calls on FM, which made no sense.

Update: I'm slowly getting through a long list of Honduras FM news and can mention that 94.7 Radio America Tegucigalpa has added a pile of relay stations across the country. Keep watching here for the list of changes......

Well the Honduras FM news may not happen here. There are a gazillion changes, new stations added, and corrections from *unclear* information, such as power and formats. I am estimating at this point, there could be literally hundreds of listing changes if I were to post them all. Honduras now has 554 FM radio stations and relays.

AND, I just found out I have updates to process for El Salvador

Jim Thomas

Surprise, surprise. I finally was able to get all the text entries for the Honduras fm radio listings entered in a possible 2010 Emisoras de FM directory. The master copies of the book are now in pretty good shape. I still have to get the update for El Salvador completed. The Honduras update was almost *overwhelming*. And, the maps are completely updated for Honduras at this time.

I have attached three files with this post....a PDF document for the maps and two text files for the *by frequency* listings for everything licensed in Honduras. The text files had to be broken into two files because of upload size limits on this forum. There was just no way to edit the list down to just changes. Please remember everything is copyrighted as part of Emisoras de FM and cannot be distributed.

If you've read this far, then that most likely means you've been keeping up on the updates for the 2009 Emisoras de FM edition. As a matter of fact, I just updated the Puerto Rican fm's and there were about two dozen changes in the listings for that tiny island.

This is a 'feeler' at this point. Should there be a 2010 Emisoras de FM? You've seen how many updates I've posted. There have been thousands of changes and additions to the master files and maps. If so, I will be preparing to publish sometime in March or April. But I need feedback.

If you would be interested in purchasing a 2010 edition, send an email with your name to mrradiohead -/- at -/- wdemail.com. I won't commit you to a copy. I just need an idea how much demand there would be. If there isn't enough, it won't happen this year.

This 2009 Emisoras de FM update thread is now closed.

The 100-page, 2010 Emisoras de FM edition was *unveiled* last night. While the overall design elements from the 2009 edition stayed intact, the latest edition reflects thousands of changes in FM radio station listings in México, Central America and the Caribbean islands. The 2010 edition is an electronic version (a pdf). It can stay in your PC or you can print your own book. It's up to you. The book does follow standard copyright laws, meaning your downloaded copies are yours and not to be distributed.

I have officially turned the publication over to the WTFDA and even though I am still the publisher, the books ownership rights now belong to the WTFDA.

Here is where you download the pdf....
http://www.wtfda.info/showthread.php?t=4026

If you are a past customer of the Emisoras book, email me OFFLIST for the password. The download is FREE.

If you have never purchased an Emisoras de FM edition before, you will also find all of the ordering information there also.

And here's hoping we have a tremendous DX season! 73
