When I click on the FM unids to play back, a window pops up asking me if I want to open or save the file, and I choose open. Then nothing happens. In fact, I can't even use any of the toolbar buttons after that because the internet window is "busy" (I get this message when I go to close out the window). If I save the file to my desktop and then open it, it opens immediately. I have mp3 files defaulted to play in WinAmp. Any ideas?

Don't know. When I click on the mp3 link, a dialogue box flashes for a sec and Winamp comes right up and plays the file. Maybe someone else is familiar with this problem.

Jeff,

There was no mime type assigned to the mp3 file. The mime type tells the browser what type of file it is and helps the browser know what to do with the file. Hopefully this will help. Let me know how this works.

Okay, it works now for all files except for Russ Edmund's first FM post.

I have no idea how a MIME type becomes attached or is created. FWIW, I don't use WinAmp nor WMP - all of my files are recorded in Total Recorder. All of those ZI've posted were done either in v 5.0 ( 6/5 ) or 5.2 ( all after then ).

Russ,

Basically the only thing it changed is that now it shouldn't make you download the file or ask you what program you want to open it. The mp3 file should open with your default media program. Mp3 wasn't one of the default files the forum had for attaching. We had to add mp3 to the file, but at the time I didn't realize what a mime type was, so I left it blank.

;)

I never even looked to see if .mp3 was on the list or not - I just presumed that since many of us use them and since they take far less space than .wav and top fidelity isn't the issue for us that they would be. I should have looked, but all's well that ends well.

Thanks Chris-
