Bit of a mystery here... Saw DTV nightlight info on channel 2 with black box in upper right of screen. The call KLVT appeared in this box. This call comes back to a radio station in Levelland, TX. (near Lubbock) Can't seem to match this up with anything channel 2. Any ideas?

Sorry to burst your bubble...

KLVT is the fictional channel 4-1 TV station used in the NAB nitelite video loop.

Bummer. Oh well. Just caught a fleeting glimpse of it.
Maybe you can help with this one, since you're up north...
My Sony TV is showing the call CHFD on channel 2. Is this actually CKPR?

CKPR-2 and CHFD-4 are both "Tb" stations.

I finally saw the fictional KLVT on a local nightlight DTV show. That's exactly what I saw on channel 2 that had me puzzled.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Tb." I'm guessing that CKPR relays CHFD. Correct?

It's a reflex action for us TV-DXers to go after anything on the screen resembling a call. Even though I know what it is in that NAB DTV psa, it still "grabs" my attention.

CKPR is in Thunder Bay. When I saw them last week they showed "TB television" in the lower left of the screen and I just figured TB stands for Thunder Bay. Correct me if I'm wrong.

DOH! Tb. Thunder Bay. Of course. (sometimes, my brain just pops out of gear)
I only caught a brief glimpse of them. I guess CKPR is transmitting the CHFD call since, I assume, that's where the programming originated.

Mike is correct about Tb standing for Thunder Bay TV.

CKPR-2 is with CBC, while CHFD-4 is with CTV. Easiest IDs I receive from Canada.

Christopher, I haven't IDed a *new* TV station from Canada in several years. Whenever I see the CBC, CTV, and Global logos I prepare myself for IDless DX. The only regular *local* IDs here are from the "Tb" stations (which display the circle-Tb logo often, run local news and many local ads) and CKND2-2 Minnedosa MB with "Global Winnepeg" IDs, local ads and news.
