1030 AM

"Summer Nights" from the GREASE soundtrack. Beautiful reception.

Next song was a country song, sung by a male, slow, and one line was about being in a jewelry store.

My husband changed stations b/c he couldn't stand the country song!.

How can I ID this station using Summer Nights and 1030 AM?

Hi Lynn,
This might help you, some...

http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/amq.html

It's a link to the FCC page for AM radio. It won't give you station formats but it will help you to figure out who is on a certain frequency, their daytime and nighttime power, etc. About halfway down the page you'll see where you can look at a specific frequency.

BTW... saw where you used to live in Princeton. I lived in Washington Crossing and worked in Pennington for many years.
Good DX.

Mmmkay, there's a few possibilities...

I used "Radio Locator" and searched US/CA stations with an "oldies" format. (Summer Nights was released in 1978. Oldies is the best I could come up with.)

1030 AM WEBS Calhoun, GA. "Greatest hits of the 60s, 70s, and 80s!"

In case I am mistaking 1030 for 1020 AM,

KJJK Ferrgus Falls, MN. (probably not possible right???)

WURN Kendall, FL. ("world ethnic" format, but GREASE and country music could be a salute to American pop culture.)

Nevertheless, I'm putting my $ on WEBS.
