Something I have been noticing from some 8 miles SW of the WBZ-1030 blow torch. When listening to them in the morning, I can tell when the IBOC comes on. The hiss is heard not only on an adjacent channel, but co-channel as well. Although for the past few days, it seems to tone down after a few seconds. I still hear it come on full hiss, but it now settles down. Until a few days ago it was not settling down but was jamming the main carrier. Anyone else hearing this?
I am listening on a Radio Shack DX-440 which is a clone of the Sangean ATS-803 receiver tuning LW through 30MHz and FM. The filters are reasonable narrow in order to separate 5KHz separation on shortwave although not perfect.
