Received on European Ch 24 today (498 MHz approx) local TV digital Multiplex from Sta Cruz Da Tenerife in Portugal.Distance around 1230 KM.

Two pictures and a map attached, also youtube video here.
Spectrum display also attached.Signal peaking around 30 to 35 dBuV at times.
Ch 23 is a stronger Moroccan multiplex and ch 25 a weak analogue signal.

I watched that 10 minute video clip and was amazed to see how little pixelation there was the entire time and the signal "meter" didn't seem to be all that high. It must have been a terrific opening, the type we will never see being 60 miles inland.

Hi Mike.
At times the signal strength (upper scale) got to 61%)& quality (lower scale) got to 74% reaching the lower limit on signal 37%,quality 47% pictures attached.Fortunately Ch 24 is fairly clear where I am.

The "Strong" DTV box that I have is fairly sensitive,it receives mpeg 4 Portuguese and mpeg 2 Spanish transmissions.Pixelleation starts with a kind of vertical "rain" effect as you can see from the picture and there's very little margin between "all" or "nothing".

The website below shows the Ch 24 signal at the top of the page, there was nothing on ch 60,I checked.Ch 56 will be clear once the semi local Andalucian Spanish analog signal goes very shortly.(Been on a Caption for 6 weeks now saying it's closed, how much longer will they waste electricity ???? !!!!)

I'm about 7 miles from the ocean in that direction and the antenna from the top of the mast can certainly see the coast.

Signals from the Canaries sometimes aren't the slow steady tropo type but appear and disappear quite quickly over half a minute or so.
