Hi, my name is Ron and I am from the North Central region of Florida. Just getting started in this part of the DX hobby. I purchased Sony's XDR-F1H a couple of weeks ago and am expecting delivery of an APS-13 FM antenna
today. As mentioned in the December VUD, I plan to "re-activate" my 50
foot TV tower in the near future. Still plan to get a good rotor and a set up for the TV end of the hobby. Always had an interest in watching and listening to things beyond the local parameters. I had a stacked channel 6 yagi array
in the 60's to get Detroit Lions games from Lansing, Michigan before they moved to Pontiac and blacked out Lansing. Reolaced that with a large uhf parabolic with a rotor in pursuit of the Lions games at home. Back then they were interesting to watch!! Now a days, I suffer with the Bucs!!

Currently researching what my plans will be for the TV end of things and hope to put it all together before things get real hot again next year on the TV and FM bands on my retirees budget. I have been browsing and surfing and really like the feel of this club!!...........73's.........Ron

Greetings Ron!

I am glad to have you in the club. You have some good neighbors that are FM dxers right there in Florida - Randy (Fort Walton Beach) and Chris (Pembroke Pines). I am certain they will both help you out if you get any mysterious FM or TV dx.

Welcome. My Dad lives in Ocala, Fl as well, but isnt into the hobby at all. I do suspect you will have fun with tropo from that location.
And I know what you mean...We erected a HUGE Channel Master antenna on a rotor from
my small town outside of Milwaukee, to be able to watch the Packer games played in Milwaukee which were blacked out, on channel 3 from Madison, about 60 miles west, over quite a few large ridges. Those were the days.
