Please allow me to apologize for failing to update the DTV Hall of Fame and DTV DX Records pages. Somehow I've misplaced the information DXers sent me.

I want to update these pages before May (when Es season begins).

I have set up a special mailbox for the updates. If you want to send in your information (again), please use this address:

dtvdxrecords@tvdxexpo.com

The pages can be accessed from here:

http://tvdxexpo.com/dtvhall.html

I am sorry about this, and fully accept the blame.

...but I know some of these are no longer on their indicated channels.
With E-skip season coming up it would be a big help to know that a station is really on the air so we don't waste time looking for one that isn't.

Doug:

as to Ch 5:

(1) I had read on Glenn Hauser's site that Anchorage still has an LPTV 6/87.7 there.
(2) KCWX wouldn't dare move from 5! There have been screen grabs on the Web of it on 5, n'est-ce pas?

For me it looks like 4 in IL is my best shot. Whenever I get skip, somehow 4 looks better than the others. I have yet to catch a DTV on Es, thanx to my, um, former locals there.

Thanks for the updated info, Doug.

It figures... the most, low channel, DTV targets are on channel 5 and we have WMC and WTVF clogging it up.

I think I heard / read, somewhere, that WEDY's channel change application has been shot down but, I'm not gonna bet the ranch on it.

I have logged...
WTWC on ch 40...10-27-09
WKYC on ch 17...1-18-10
WCFT on ch 33...10-28-09
KETS on ch 7...6-30-09
...so, maybe, they can be taken off of the " * means I'm not absolutely certain " list.

Too bad about KNAZ. It used to be a regular on analog.

Many thanks to Ed and Doug for the interesting low-band DTV lists.

I never decoded a DTV on channel 54 (which is no longer used for TV) and channel 4, so hopefully WHBF-DT4 will eventually decode. I've had some strong DTV signals on 4 via Es from various directions, but nothing has decoded. Analog WHBF-4 was never an easy catch here, but I think the absence of CCI will make it possible for WHBF-DT to decode.

Hi Chris & Danny,

I logged WHBF via tropo on 8-6-09. It's a little close, although not impossible, to be an E-skip target for me. It looks like it's about 1200 miles from Pembroke Pines and 650 miles from Shreveport so, I'll bet you'll see it this Spring / Summer. From Doug's list it appears WHBF may be the only channel 4 left.

I have my E-skip "shopping list" made out so, I'm ready to go... if the antennas survive the Spring storms.

FWIW... the WX radio just broadcast a severe thunderstorm watch for my area. Let the games begin...

Yes. At this time WHBF is the only *full-power* channel 4 on the air. KSNB is still authorized and might possibly return someday, possibly without much (if any) notice. But I wouldn't wager any money on it.

I should say, this list is only of full-power stations. To my recollection nobody has yet logged a digital LPTV via Es, but I think that's just a matter of time.

Thanks for the updates on WTWC/WKYC/WCFT/KETS. I was pretty sure they all moved on Transition Day but the FCC DB doesn't show licenses-to-cover yet so couldn't be certain.

Guess I should post that list on the web somewhere...

Doug, an updated low-band list on the Internet would be useful to TV DXers, so I hope you put up a list.

Steve Rich did receive the LDTV on channel 4 from the DFW area via Eskip last summer.

Low channel, low power, DTVs certainly should be DXable. WEDY shows only 400 watts, and not much HAAT, but I've seen it. It could, just as well, be a LPDTV.

Yes, Danny. That was KHPK-LD-3, Desoto, TX @ 788 miles on 7-17-09.

As Ed mentioned above, relating to WEDY with only 400 watts, some other stations are not much more than LP stations. I was very surprised when KXGN-DT-5, Glendive, MT with only 1000 watts traveled 1047 miles and fully decoded on 6-20-09. And then a few weeks later it decoded again.

Ahhhh KXGN, the last of the more-than-one-network affilates. I assume that they are only 1 network now, and maybe a subchannel is handling the other?

Woulda loved to catch that one in the day....
