A little tropo action in the wee hours this morning. McAllen, Brownsville and Matamoros were all there along with a few others. But what really made me do a double take was when I saw in my channel list NVUE 24.2 RF 33. Strange call letters. :) Apparently an Austin station. The only article I found was this one.

"In September, KVUE 24 launched Estrella TV, a 24-hour Spanish language network on digital multicast channel 24.2 (NVUE) and Time Warner Digital Cable Channel 605. This brand new, compelling programming provides the growing Hispanic community in Austin with continuous Spanish language television."

Although I never saw it decode, highest I saw was 33 (need 38-40 for decode), here's this pic.

Thanks Danny. What do you make of the call letters? Any particular reason to start witn N?

Hi Mike,

Stations don't always include their call letters in the PSIP data stream...

The Kentucky Educational Television stations run three channels per transmitter and show "KET", "KET2" and "KET KY" in the channel displays, no matter what station it is.

I think most of the ION TV stations don't show call letters, either. All you get is "ION".

The last time I saw WBIH 29 Selma, AL. it didn't show any info at all. It took several E-mails / phone calls to verify that one. The station manager told me he would fix it but I don't know if he has.

I had some good early morning tropo, also. Nothing new but, good signals from northern MS, eastern TN, and eastern KY.
