Hi
Twas a great Tropo evening Fri night/Sat morning. One new station, and some which actually landed a smooth picture. WXCW, despite only being about 120 mi, must be running low power....this is the 1st time I got it.

Yeah I have a few that are like that. Houston NBC for example. I think I've pulled in every Houston station(I think about 11 or 12), but cant seem to get the NBC affiliate. But I know its just a matter of time. ;)

Thanx Danny. Gotta love the Ft. Myers/Naples market....The RF, virtual, and on-screen channel numbers are all different....!! Well, that's ONE way to get people to get cable/satellite----confuse 'em enough!!

That's because Ft. Myers-Naples was one of the first, and most consistent, markets in which the UHFs almost exclusively marketed themselves by their cable channel numbers instead of the RF channels. 26 has long been known as "channel 7" (which enabled them to use the famous ABC "Circle 7" logo), 20 as "channel 2," etc. They've just carried that practice over into the DTV era.

Yeah I understand. I believe that Canadian cities have been doing that long before Ft Myers....e.g. CFTO "Channel 9, Cable 8"

But if they were like Ft. Myers, they wouldn't even mention channel 9. I don't think the Ft. Myers UHFs EVER mentioned their RF channels on-air except in a sign-on or sign-off announcement.

Right. I believe SCTV did a fake promo once about something like the Today Show, the Tonight Show, and the Tomorrow Show changing times or something, then saying something like "on SCTV channel ___ cable ___, 9pm ,10:30 in Newfoundland"....whatever it was, it sure threw me off.
