View Full Version : Wjde-ld
I put this one in the UN-IDs because it's another one of those LDs that has no PSIP data.
DTV #464 WJDE-LD 31 Nashville, TN. Home Shopping Network.
It took a little R&D to be sure of this one but, if the Nashville UHFs are blasting in, and you see the HSN on DTV 31, you have my permission to log it. :-)
p.s.....what's the deal with the thread title? I type it all in capital letters and when I post, it comes out in small letters. IOW...I type WJDE-LD and it comes out wjde-ld.
WTH?

I've been noticing that one & thinking it was WPBM Scottsville. Began to think otherwise when I swung the antenna north & it disappeared.
Haven't ever got it strong enough to lock.
Haven't checked for UHF analogs in awhile. Looks like 24, 26, and 42 are gone. 20 and 34 are as strong as ever. And I too am seeing 43 WKAG with about 50% reliability. (when it's on, it's stronger than it ever was)
WJDE didn't last long before the signal took a dive. It just gives you "31-1" and that's it.
The WPBM I logged (1-13-10) transmitted on 46 and remapped to 31.
I tried to E-mail WKAG and it bounced back. Not much seems to be working over there at Hoptown. :-)

I logged another LD today, and the calls were in the PSIP data! KHLM-LD43 (Houston, 224 miles) also has five subchannels.

Doug, I haven't had the TV on tonight but I caught 42 at their usual signal strength last night.

224 miles on an LD??? Wow, awesome!
I just checked channel 42 analog and I'm getting WLLC-LP Nashville, en Espanol, also.

Actually, KHLM-LD43 is not really that special of a catch. They applied for a power increase to 60kW (from 15kW), and that is likely what they are now using.
I think KHPK-LD3 DFW at 187 miles is a better catch (and it comes in pretty often). Their ERP is only 300 watts.
Ed has probably logged KHLM-LD way up there in Kentucky...

Nice one Danny. I also pulled in KHLM-LD on Apr 5th. Not as good a catch as yours (194 miles). Dont remember seeing any sub channel's PSIP in list however.
Thanks.

I presume both of you saw WNYI-52 back when they were running 1 watt from a tower across the street from the cable headend:)
Interesting. Digital -LPs are supposed to be limited to 15kW. But on March 18th, KHLM filed for an Engineering STA for experimental operation. I'm having trouble getting the attachment (which is supposed to explain why they think they should get more than 15kW) to open.

Strange. Not a hint of 42 up here. (43 is off again)
The WPBM I logged (1-13-10) transmitted on 46 and remapped to 31. (nn2e)
Dunno why I thought they'd flash-cut on channel 31... my memory is shot...
Danny,
I don't have KHPK-LD 3 or KHLM-LD 43 yet, but they're on my "shopping list." :-)
Doug,
I haven't logged WNYI 52...apparently, I missed one.
It's tough getting old. I often forget what I was going to... oh, I forget. :-)

Had WJDE-LD 31.1 in, solid, this morning. Still no PSIP ID or info.
Looks like they're using the Home Shopping Network C-Band analog satellite feed from AMC-10, ch 10 (135 deg West) to feed the WJDE-LD transmitter. The picture had a few "sparkles" in it, common to a slightly mis-tuned C-Band analog signal.

Saw WJDE-LD 31.1 again and STILL no ID in their PSIP.
I don't know if they do any kind of "on air" ID. I guess, when I'm really bored, I'll have to watch long enough to see if they ever ID.
Hey Doug... What's the FCC fine for not IDing?

It "only" took five months but I finally saw the d#$%&d thing ID. At about two minutes before the TOH it ran a crawler across the top of the screen saying..."WJDE-LD WRMX-LP"...but it still has no PSIP info.

FCC fine?????? what's that?
Seriously, I have no idea...
Somewhat to my surprise, I was able to pick up this station in my office the other morning. Luckily, just as I was trying to explain to two new guys what PSIP was -- I was actually able to demonstrate the consequences of not having any!
It makes me mad as H*** when a DTV doesn't have it's call in the PSIP. If it were up to me the un-IDed DTVs would get the death penalty...Can't bother to ID it?...Then shut it off! If the FCC would do this, to just one DTV, I suspect the rest of them would fix their PSIPs right quick.
Thanks for keeping the old analog info on your website, Doug. Without it, "ION" IDing would be kinda tough.
