I've never actually seen a NOAA Weather Radio transmitter site, or even a picture of one come to think. Is it safe to assume that the antennas used are vertical polarization and omni-directional?

I've been doing some casual DXing using my 2 Meter horizontal Yagi, but think I might have better luck using my 2 Meter FM Yagi which is vertically polarized and on a rotor.

On this page is my local NOAA weather radio transmitter site. It is under KUWZ 90.5 which uses the top part of the tower. I believe the NOAA transmitter is about 1/4 of the way up from the ground on this one, although I can't be sure.

Hope this helps.

I've confirmed that NOAA Weather Radio sites are vertical polarization with omni antennas.

So if you're into WX DXing, flip those antennas vertical!
