This one poked in 5/28 1810. It arose very quickly over the hash, quieting the channel. The voice-over-music seems to be undermodulated, but thanks to the strength of the signal it's readable - now if only I had a clue what this was. Most of the remaining skip had gone by that time.

French, but not French. Anything w/Cajun progamming in LA? Or was the opening active to the Carribbean (Haiti)?

KQKI Bayou Vista, LA plays Cajun sometimes and I'm sure has French talk at times. I hear them on tropo often.

I checked, and there is a 95.3 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti as well.

On Sunday everything was Florida, and I had one, possibly two tentative Cubans, so Haiti isn't out of the question, but I agree it sounds like Cajun, but some of the Haitian stations I used to hear on MW years back sounded quite similar. KQKI was heard 6 hours earl;ier in English playing classic country. Looks as if this one may stay unID.

It's definitely not a Cajun-accented French. Sounds more like Canadian. Ask Charles in QE to listen.
