This is a longshot but I hear 3 mentions of "Radio America" and at 6:26 there is an ID "Radio America Cadena Nacional". There are two "Radio America" stations listed in Honduras HRRAC in La Ceiba at 1kw and HRRSR Santa Rosa de Copan also 1kw. I can't say for sure this is either though. Quite a ways off from south Texas and Cuba !

Fred,

This is definitely Radio America from Honduras, as Randy mentions.

At 2:00 into the clip, the female news announcer gives a news story from Comayaguela, a suburb of Tegucigalpa.

At 2:06 into the clip (at the end of the female announcer's news story), the male news announcer says, "this is a repeater of Radio América". There was no "local" station id at that point, as the program content was in the middle of the National/International news.

At 6:30 into the clip, the male news reporter says, "Those are the lead news stories of 'Radio América Cadena Nacional' " (The Radio America National Network)

So, which one do you count? Randy is getting his information from Emisoras de FM, which is current and as accurate as the Hondurian government is with their radio station listings, as of March 2006. Its your choice.

Fred,

Here is new information. This is your station...
HN COR San Pedro Sula HRLP 1000 "Radio America"//94.7 with news-talk-variety.

They are a relay of HRLP in Tegucigalpa (94.7). In January '07 I finally received official documents from the Honduras government, showing their major overhaul of the radio dial and adjustments in call letters (which, incidentally, was also major).

The La Ceiba translator is 250 watts and more than likely is not them.
