Here's audio of a 96.5 I had during yesterday's (6/9) opening. I had stations in AL and MS at the time. I think I hear "pesos" mentioned at one point during this. Can anyone that knows spanish get anything better out of this?
Thanks!

There's an ad for a shoe store but I can't tell where.
"Los Mejores" may be a slogan for the station. There are also some slogans up front.
There's a promo, or ad, for something in Tijuana.
I'm fairly sure this is a national Mexican net. JimT should know :-).

Wow. I'm looking at Emisoras de FM for any clue at all. The only thing that pops out to me is around the 30-35 second remaining area. The anncr mentions Arroyo...and there is XHARR in Doctor Arroyo NL, 25kw. That's not far from Monterrey where I heard two stations back in 2000. I can't wait for somebody who knows Spanish to tell us more!

At the begining this clip says:
"Haciendo Radio para ti..Los locutores de la Tremenda.." followed by theirs annoucers presentations. Near the end there is an local ad for "Vicente Guerrero" At "Hidalgo" state, from "pinturas COMEX", this a mexican brand of paints.

With Humberto's fine translation I too now hear the slogan and mentions of Durango and other material to pin this on XHDNG "La Tremenda" Durango, DGO, Mexico. Nice double hop Es catch Jeff!! "Emisoras de FM" lists them at only 5kw. The path fits well as there was a second Es cloud over about Louisiana that was bringing in Texas,Oklahoma, and northern Mexico in here at the time. That's got to be over 2000 miles?

My 2Es to Monterrey back in 2000 was 1945 miles, and looking at a globe, Durango looks about 200mi further, so I'd guestimate it to be around 2150mi !!!
All I can say Jeff is WOW!!! June 9th and 10th were super days for double hop!

Wow, well it sure is hard to believe! But I guess unless anyone can say otherwise, I'll log it. Does anyone know where I can find coordinates to find the exact distance? It was actually during the opening on the 9th, at around 8:15 PM.

Way to go Jeff! BTW, I pretty much hear everything Humberto hears and wouldn't disagree with him anyway. :-)

This is a map of the FM E skip observed here in the late afternoon and early evening of June 9. It's clear to see how Jeff's reception of XHDNG was possible.

This station now has a website
http://www.grupogarzalimon.com.mx/tremenda/
I thought it might be of interest that some of the DJ's introduced are pictured on the page under the link "FOTOS DE TUS LOCUTORES". Chava Chavin as announced is the first on page 1.
Also the transmitter power is now listed at 50kw on Fred Cantu's site. Not sure when they increased or if 5kw was a misrepresentation 2 years ago.

It probably was incorrectly typed - either the information from the SCRT was incorrect or the editor of "Emisoras" did a typo :)
FWIW, the 2007 Emisoras shows them at 50kw.
