89.9 - XHRA Guadalajara?

Okay, time to maybe get in on the whole double-hop thing.

At 3:11 PT this afternoon I had Spanish on 89.9. A few minutes later, I had XHAHC 90.9 Chihuahua, and later still, Es to CA/AZ/NM/TX. This was at the beginning of the opening (which was spotty on FM).

I sure think I hear someone talking about Guadalajara, and giving a couple of phone numbers, one for inside the city and one for distant callers. But maybe one of you Spanish experts will hear something else. Let me know! The city of Guadalajara is 1921 miles from here and this would be my distance record.

I hear him saying "38 11 27 27 Guadalajara
solo metropolitana" and then later a bit of a 1-800
(unless there's more after the "ochocientos" mention
we couldn't hear).

I have edited my comments here since the end result, which you will note below. I originally thought it was possibly KBNL in Texas, because I wasn't certain it 'sounded' like XHRA.

Googling the phone number, even with the Guadalajara domestic area code (33) doesn't provide any results.

Laredo would be 1666 miles from here and impressive as well, but it's quite far E of what I was receiving. And I don't see any other "logical" stations in CA/AZ/NM/TX. But if you aren't convinced it's XHRA (I just assumed some sort of local ad) I certainly won't count it.

I was able to get an acquaintance, Simon Gamez, who works as the morning co-host on SS radio station KGRE 1450 Greeley CO, to listen to your clip, Dave. Just today I got his comments back in my email. Here is what he said.....

Okay Jim, you've convinced me and I'm counting it. I thought it was them, and this "confirmation" is good enough for me. I'd love to get the official confirmation from the station owners as well, but I haven't heard back yet.

Near as I can tell, 1920 miles. Beats my longest previous of 1733 miles (Monterrey NL XHQQ).
