WJCT ID'ed at 89.9; unID's up to 106.7; but quickly dropped back to around 88 MHz as of 1750 CT.

94.9 Power 95 Bermuda - Hip hop, accented EE, "Power 95 Stereo FM" on
car radio 1858
92.3 K-92 Country WWKA-FL 1900
92.9 Kix oOuntry WIKX-FL 1908
92.3 WSSJ-GA 1910
all above on car radio, after getting down to the shack, discovered a station strong w/ Caribbean-accented religion on 94.9 @1920-25+, didn't sound very professional. don't know if a pirate from S FL or something else.

From what I can tell, we've had Es into FM since around 5pm, off and on, from FL/AL. It's 8:45pm now and Es is still on the lower half of the band.
First good opening this year.

Es has jumped into FM three or four more times since my earlier post, but nothing stable. Had WMOC 88.7 Lumber City, GA for my only new one of the night. WJCT has come back about 3 times this evening. The opening hasn't been productive enough to stay glued to the radio, so I may have missed a few others spikes in MUF.

Re-posting here since Topica has gone beserk......
This was the best Es opening this year so far
up here. It was also the muggiest day (9:45 PM and
it's still 81F) so I spent it in and out of the
family pool.
This went well into FM but concentrated on TV
as I don't really have any equipment for FM
in Brossard and there was NO WAY I'd go inside
the car for this!
WJXT-4 and WEDU-3 were dominant from about 1500 till
2015 EDT.
1525 WJXT-4 Jacksonville FL logo "Ch. 4 - The local station"!!
1528 WEDU-3 Tampa FL
1530 WCIV-4 Charleston SC
1830 tWMAZ-DT-4 Macon GA (see note below)
1900 WFOR-4 Miami FL "most watched South Florida station"
1945 WTVY-4 Dothan AL "WTVY dot com" Call letters
1959 WRBL-3 Columbus GA logo
At 18:30, strong DTV snow wiped out WJXT for a few minutes.
Since I do not have the technology, I'm assuming WMAZ-DT
which is most probable considering distance and direction.
Has WSKY switched to DT yet?? Any other ideas?

Lots of logs on the lower part of the FM dial this afternoon and evening. Tried posting to the list but a few emails that have got through to me suggest it is a mess. Mostly GA, AL, FL, MS, TN.
K-92 on 92.7 hiphop
Country 93 on 93.3 with old style country and announcer, show about Conway Twitty...

Very flakey Es from my end as most of this seasons openings have been. Es hovering just below FM then bursts in for a few minutes. This happened about 6-8 times over the opening. Strong 200+ mile tropo made it tough. New Orleans strong on the back corner of beam while pointed at New England. I managed to log ::
88.3 WHWC Menomonie, WI 17:33 Central time "Wisconsin Public Radio"
93.1 WMGX Portland, ME 18:53 full call letter id twice
TV ch 6 CBMT Montreal, QC with "Austin Powers" 19:01
94.3 CKMF Montreal 19:09
91.5 WXXI Rochester, NY ~RDS hit 19:20
93.9 CKKL "Bob FM" ~Ottawa 19:24
91.9 CKLX French Jazz ~Montreal, QC 19:32
95.1 French Canadian talk likely CBON North Bay, ON or possibly CBF Monreal at 19:55 ~ fighting it out with the new "B95" 25kw WBPC local pest that just went on the air in the last week :D
100.5 CHUR north Bay, Ontario "Easy Rock 100.5" 19:58
I have a couple unid'ed audios maybe you fellas up north would recognize I'll post on the forum later.
a bunch of unid's from the beginning that I believe were Iowa , one 94.7 with a car race and talk about Des Moines and a few others. Es was jumping around and fading up and down so much few id's were possible, plus the tropo and the lack of higher powered FM's in the north!
Maybe the rest of the season will bring more events like this or better.

91.9 CKLX French Jazz ~Montreal, QC 19:32
Nice catch Randy!! First time I see it reported.
Next time look for CKOI 96.9 if you haven't nabbed
it yet. That one is 307KW. Also CBFX on 100.7 is
100KW.

Thanks Charly!
91.9 CKLX is new for me, amazing at only 2kw. There was also a station on 94.3 that was broadcasting the exact same French Jazz music but it was a fraction of a second off, it was wild listening to them both at the same time on two different receivers. Would this have been CKMF? I heard another station on 91.9 just before CKLX took over. The audio is posted on the unid'd column.
Perhaps I will catch some of your other locals some day. Although 96.9 and 100.7 both have 100kw stations rather close to me. I've never logged anything else on those freq's but it could be possible! Just like the new WBPC which is only about 40 miles east of me that just went on the air last week was partially clobbered by CBF at 6:55PM. Way to go Canada!! . 95.1 used to be one of my best DXing frequencies.
I wonder if anyone heard WBPC "B95" tonight?
