Last night I hooked my tuner up to my outside TV antenna that is at least 35 feet in the air and wow was I surprised!

With another tuner tuned to the exact same station, I was able to pick up two completed different stations on top of each other! Now I know this is no big news to most of you, but I was amazed and thrilled! These stations are about 150 miles from each other.

I might be hooked!

Now I just want to get an FM only antenna, a rotor, a higher tower... well, I'm only limited by money (or lack thereof)!!! :D

Sounds great! My ~big~ station for FM DXing is a car stereo from an '87 Subaru and a 6 element FM beam up 35 feet fed with RG6. It certainly didn't cost me an arm and a leg, but I get a big kick out of it.

My FM DX here was nothing but my car radio and whip parked in the driveway for several years. Then it became a Sony aftermarket car radio and an old Radio Shack TV/FM antenna.

You can do a lot with minimal equipment on FM in part because the primary trigger is conditions - when tropo or Es are in, you're going to get new stations, even with a Walkman !
