The Voice of Russia strikes again! (1548khz)

Last night around 11:15pm I parked on 1548khz after hearing a couple of women talking on that freq, one of them sounding American. At 11:29pm I heard a Voice of Russia ID plus email address and web url.

You don't get IDs on TAs very often, so this one was a gift. This one is Gregoriopol Moldavia, heard a few weeks earlier but with no real ID. Now I have one!

Moldavia is east of Romania.

BTW...I have a Kenwood R2000, Quantum phaser and two longwires, one SW-NE and the other mostly W-E, connected to coax on their E ends.

Very motivating. As the leaves are falling, I'm getting my EWE's back up. Spent the afternoon building some matching transformers and yesterday I modified my preselector so it has a higher Q, hopefully allowing me to peak on those oddball channels.

It's a little tougher here in the midwest, but I know it can be done. I've been throwing away signal strength by ignoring impedance mismatches in the past. No more!

Here in Serbia Voice of Russia on 1548 KHz is heard perfectly every night, even without antenna!!!!!
