Yesterday afternoon every transmitter operated by the national weather service in Mount Holly, NJ went off the air for a few hours allowing some rare opportunities for DX. Here's what I heard using an ICOM706IIG with a Comet CX-333 antenna at 45'.

(Listed from being the dominant one to lesser heard, with approximate distances)
Transmissions from the Upton NY, Albany NY, Binghamton NY, State College PA, Sterling VA, Wakefield VA, and Newport NC offices were heard.

162.400- WXJ-42 Meriden, CT (~170 miles 500w)162.400- KEC-83 Baltimore, MD (~110 miles 1000w)
162.400- WXM-57 Heathsville, VA (~150 miles 1000w)
162.425- WNG-589 Altoona, PA (~210 miles 300w) (Used to be heard daily, prior to WNG-704)
162.425- WWH-26 Mamie, NC (~245 miles 300w) (Used to be heard daily, prior to WNG-704)
162.450- WNG-705 Honesdale, PA (~150 miles 300w) *NEW*
162.450- KZZ-28 Covesville, VA (~250 miles 1000w)
162.475- WXM-80 Riverhead, NY (~140 miles 1000w)
162.475- WXM-94 Wellsboro, PA *NEW* (~210 miles 1000w)
162.475- WXM-59 State College, PA *NEW* (~190 miles 100w)
162.500- WWH-33 Cornwall, CT (~175 miles 500w)
162.525- WWG-52 Huntingdon, PA (~185 miles 1000w) (Always heard being the last completely open freq)
162.525- WXM-95 Towanda, PA (~185 miles 1000w) (Always heard being the last completely open freq)
162.525- KHC-49 Norwich, NY (~215 miles 300w) (Always heard being the last completely open freq)
162.550- KWO-35 New York City, NY (~90 miles 500w) (Always heard mixing)
162.550- WXL-40 Harrisburg, PA (~130 miles 1000w) (Always heard mixing)
162.550- KHB-36 Manassas, VA (~160 miles 1000w) (Always heard mixing)
