 The NTE rotor I put up a few months ago for the UHF dish was jamming and this week Tom Fuscaldo and I replaced it with an Alliance HD-73 I picked up for two for $140 on Ebay. In the wide shot you can see the APS-14 stagger stack (left), the VHF Low (Chimney Mount bottom), VHF High (two horizontal stack on top), Tom and I working on the dish (center) and the APS-13 phasing stagger stack (right).

The easiest way to do the replacement was to move one rotor down the post, put the second on top, then lift the dish (which is heavy) and slide it into the rotor mount. The dish is now ready to survive another few seasons. Next project is to replace the VHF antennas. I am not thrilled with the performance of the VHF Antennas I now have.

Sounds like a cool setup Rick... What size (in KB) are the pics? Theres a 2MB hardcoded limit in the PHP. (though it can be changed- only Chris can do it). You should be able to get the pics on here, reply on here, or catch me on Aim.

-Update: Nevermind, there is a problem, we'll get it fixed as soon as possible. A recent upgrade was done to the board that knocked out the attachment function.

Two for $140? Was that with the control heads? What a steal! My HD-73 is over 25 years old. I bought it new from RIch when I first got the 7' UHF dish and the VHF CM1110. After it all collapsed off the 10' tripod I had on my apartment building roof, it all just sat up there, inverted, for about 12 or 15 years. When I finally did get back in to TV DXing and had all that metal removed from the roof, the HD-73 was full of water. I let it dry out for a few days, then hooked it up. IT STILL WORKED! So I took it apart and cleaned and relubricated all the balls in it. It's been working away every since, turning that big 7' UHF dish. These things are built like tanks! I hope yours lasts as long as mine has.
We would all LOVE to see the pictures.

I have one up on the tower and the readings are always right on the money. I can tune it more sharply than the HAM IV on the phasing stack. The ones I got were covered with Sea Salt, but it works fine. The other one has been on top of the tower now for over 10 years. Photos as soon as I can attach them.
